How each one plays by grade

Math with Confidence

Grades PreK-6

Kindergarten runs gentle and some owners call it slow. Third grade is where the workload steps up to three pages a lesson and where independent work becomes real. The line finished with Sixth Grade in June 2026, and owner reports thin out sharply above third grade.

RightStart Mathematics

Grades K-8

Levels A through D are the most parent-intensive and the ones most families rave about. Levels G and H are written to the student and turn into geometry-heavy courses, so independence jumps there. Owners report standardized scores dipping in grades 1 through 3 before recovering, since the test order does not match the lesson order. Plan on a two-year commitment; transferring in or out mid-stream is where most families struggle.

Who Math with Confidence fits

Aimed at parents who want to teach math themselves, enjoy games and hands-on work, and want understanding built before drill. Skip it if you're stretched across several young children, want your child working independently, or have a kid already running ahead, since owners coming from Singapore report boredom.

Who RightStart Mathematics fits

Works in a house with one or two younger kids where a parent can sit down for half an hour a day, and it's a rescue for a child who's shut down on a workbook program. Families juggling several school-age kids, anyone who needs math their child can do alone, and families working with a diagnosed math learning disability won't get what they need here.
