We’re a homeschool family, and we built this site because choosing curriculum was harder than it needed to be. We were homeschooled ourselves, we teach our own kids now, and every year the same thing happened: we’d open a dozen tabs, read glowing reviews next to furious ones for the very same program, and still not know whether it would work in our house.

That’s the thing about curriculum. The program that makes one family’s year click gets abandoned by another in October, because the child, the parent, the budget, and the daily rhythm are different in every home. So the useful question isn’t which curriculum is best. It’s which one fits your kid and your home.

What we do

We describe each curriculum clearly enough that you can tell whether it’s a match. Every entry scores six things on a one-to-five scale (rigor, parent involvement, prep load, screen time, independence, and time commitment), labels the faith content, the approach, and the format, and includes a plain “who it fits and who should look elsewhere.” Then the filters and the side-by-side comparison pages let you narrow to the handful that suit your situation and read the full write-ups.

Where the descriptions come from

We aggregate what owners report. We read what homeschool parents consistently say across forums, groups, and long-form reviews, together with the publisher’s own materials, and we write down the patterns. When we say a program runs long, or that kids can work through it on their own, that’s what many families describe rather than one reviewer’s opinion. Our scoring guide walks through exactly what each attribute means.

Fit, not ranking

We don’t crown winners. A five is never better than a one. Heavy parent involvement is exactly what some families want and more than others can carry, and the same goes for every attribute. Our job is to make each program’s real shape easy to read so you can hold it up against your own home and your own child.

How we stay honest

Some links on the site are affiliate links, and if you click one and buy something we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes how a curriculum is described or scored. The write-ups come from aggregated owner feedback and the publishers’ materials, and a commission doesn’t buy a better description. You can read the full affiliate disclosure any time.
