How it shifts by grade
Reading 1 and 2 carry the heaviest phonics and teacher-presentation load. From Reading 3 up the course moves toward independent silent reading and literary analysis.
Additional notes
Reading is sold alongside Phonics and English, spelling, and handwriting. In the 4th edition BJU split phonics and reading into separate courses, so Reading can pair with a different phonics program.
