How it shifts by grade
K5 and grade 1 carry the core phonics load. By grades 2 and 3 the emphasis shifts toward fluency, comprehension, and the content readers.
Additional notes
Reading is part of a bundled Language Arts program covering spelling, grammar, handwriting, and poetry, and Abeka sells it that way. Faith content is the heaviest of the reading set and borders on Core. The video track lowers parent involvement and raises screen time.
