Who it fits

Extra practice, diagnostics, and review to reinforce a concept a child has already been taught. It's a supplement and doesn't teach new material well on its own, so anyone hunting for a full spine should look at CTCMath or Teaching Textbooks and add IXL for practice. Kids with math anxiety or perfectionist streaks can find the scoring demoralizing.

How it shifts by grade

The diagnostic estimates a working grade level across strands, which some owners use to place kids and prep for standardized tests.

Additional notes

The big mechanic to understand is the SmartScore. Each skill scores 0 to 100, rising with correct answers and dropping sharply after a miss, and reaching 100 gets harder as you climb. That is the most common complaint and the reason many owners cap it at 80. Best used in short doses to reinforce, not to introduce.
