What parents consistently praise

  • Thorough enough that grammar is done for good
  • Scripting helps parents who feel weak in grammar
  • Diagramming builds real understanding
  • One instructor text covers all four years
  • Pacing flexes for fast or slow kids

What parents report as challenges

  • Dry and demanding, not light or fun
  • Heavy repetition across the four-year cycle
  • Teacher-intensive, and the workbook can't stand alone
  • The cyclical design trips up new users on pacing

How it shifts by grade

Start no earlier than fifth grade. The colors are not sequential, so any color can come first, and most middle schoolers won't finish a whole workbook in a year, which is expected.

Additional notes

The set is a four-year color cycle (Red, Purple, Blue, Yellow), each color a workbook plus key, sharing one Core Instructor Text. Fully secular, and pairs with Writing With Skill.
